MUNA Social Services Partners with Council Member Chris Bank to Support East New York Families
On November 24, 2024, MUNA Social Services proudly partnered with Council Member Chris Banks to distribute food to 300 families in East New York.
The Thanksgiving food distribution included a wide variety of essential items such as apples, grapes, potatoes, onions, cooking oil, rice, tuna, macaroni and cheese, and spaghetti. This initiative underscores our ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting families in need.
Council Member Chris Banks shared his thoughts on the event:
“I’m thrilled that today we were able to help feed over 300 people. Food insecurity remains a significant challenge, and we are committed to addressing this issue one step at a time. Partnerships with friends and community organizations like MUNA Social Services are critical to this effort. Their unwavering support and consistent presence when called upon make a real difference in the lives of so many. To the residents of the 42nd Council District, thank you for showing up and showing out at today’s Thanksgiving food distribution. Exciting News: MUNA Social Services Acquires a Forklift!
We are thrilled to share that MUNA Social Services has acquired a forklift for $19,500, thanks to the generous support of the Double-R-Foundation.
This vital piece of equipment will significantly streamline our operations, enabling us to handle and distribute essential supplies more efficiently to those in need. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Double-R-Foundation for making this possible and for supporting our mission to serve the community.

MUNA Social Services Expands Its Reach with First Food Distribution in Pennsylvania
On November 9, 2024, MUNA Social Services proudly conducted its first-ever food distribution in Pennsylvania, serving families at the Islamic Society of Delaware and Masjid As-Sabiqun in Chester. This milestone marks an important step in our mission to ensure no community goes hungry.
The distribution featured culturally appropriate groceries, including rice, cooking oil, halal chicken, and fresh produce, tailored to meet the dietary needs of the Muslim community. Dozens of families received these essential resources, offering much-needed relief and support during challenging times.
We are deeply grateful to the leaders and volunteers at both masjids for their partnership in making this initiative a success. MUNA Social Services remains dedicated to fostering collaboration and expanding our impact to serve more communities across the nation.

Sharing Blessings This Thanksgiving
On November 26, 2024, MUNA Social Services proudly distributed over 8,000 halal chickens across New York and New Jersey, along with essential items such as cooking oil, onions, potatoes, rice, and more, to support families in need this Thanksgiving.
In collaboration with local elected officials and community organizations, this initiative provided much-needed relief, ensuring families could celebrate the holiday with dignity and warmth. May this effort bring barakah to all involved and continue to spread compassion and gratitude within our communities.

MUNA Social Services: November Distribution Brings Relief to Thousands
In November 2024, MUNA Social Services provided over 300,000 pounds of food, valued at more than half a million, to over 25,000 individuals across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. This remarkable effort was made possible through our network of 17 regular food pantries and 10 plus popup sites, delivering culturally appropriate groceries to families in need.
This initiative highlights MUNA’s unwavering commitment to combating hunger and supporting underserved communities. By prioritizing fairness and empowerment, MUNA Social Services continues to expand its reach to ensure no one goes hungry. We remain dedicated to making a positive, lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.
