Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA)

Over three decades, MUNA has grown into a nationally recognized grassroots network, offering Islamic education, social services, youth programs, interfaith initiatives, and community development. New York City Community Food Connections

The Community Food Connection (CFC), run by NYC's Human Resources Administration (HRA), supports over 500 soup kitchens and food pantries citywide by providing funding and distributing fresh, shelf-stable, and frozen food to those in need. Organizations must meet eligibility criteria to become CFC providers, including having tax-exempt status and operating for at least four months. The program helps individuals and families access groceries and hot meals and offers information on SNAP and other food assistance programs.

NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD)

DYCD supports New York City’s youth and families through a variety of programs and services. These include afterschool programs, job training, internships, summer activities, immigrant support, family services, and resources for runaway and homeless youth. DYCD’s mission is to help New Yorkers develop skills, access opportunities, and overcome challenges to lead fulfilling lives. 

NYC Department for the Aging (DFTA)

DFTA supports the well-being of older New Yorkers by providing essential services, resources, and programs. These include meal assistance, caregiver support, senior centers, wellness activities, and benefits counseling. DFTA aims to promote healthy aging, enhance independence, and ensure older adults can live with dignity and purpose.

Met Council

Met Council is one of the largest Jewish charities in the United States, dedicated to combating poverty and providing critical social services to individuals and families in need. With a focus on food security, housing assistance, family violence support, and crisis intervention, Met Council empowers vulnerable communities across New York City. Through a network of partner organizations and innovative programs, the organization delivers comprehensive care that fosters dignity, stability, and hope for those facing hardship. 

United Way of New York City

United Way of New York City (UWNYC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of low-income New Yorkers by addressing critical issues in education, health, and financial stability. Through partnerships with government agencies, businesses, foundations, and community-based organizations, UWNYC implements programs and initiatives aimed at creating a more equitable and prosperous city for all residents.

Food Bank of New York City

Food Bank For New York City is the city’s largest hunger-relief organization, providing food, resources, and support to New Yorkers in need. Serving all five boroughs, it partners with over 800 food pantries, soup kitchens, and community programs. Since 1983, it has delivered more than 1.2 billion meals. Food Bank also offers services like SNAP enrollment, free tax preparation, and nutrition education to help individuals achieve long-term food security. 

Sandy Nurse - Council Member

Sandy Nurse is the Council Member for District 37, representing Bushwick, Cypress Hills, East New York, and Brownsville in Brooklyn. Pierina Ana Sanchez – NYC Council Member, District 14

Council Member Pierina Ana Sanchez represents District 14 in the Bronx, advocating for policies that prioritize housing affordability, economic opportunity, and equitable development. A lifelong Bronx resident, she is dedicated to addressing systemic disparities and uplifting her community through inclusive and sustainable initiatives.

Roxanne J. Persaud

Roxanne J. Persaud is a New York State Senator representing Brooklyn and Queens in the 19th Senate District. She chairs the Social Services Committee and advocates for public safety, affordable housing, education, and resources for youth and seniors. A former higher education administrator and community leader, she is committed to addressing gun violence, supporting small businesses, and advancing social services.

Adrienne E. Adams

Adrienne E. Adams is the Speaker of the New York City Council and represents Queens' District 28, covering Jamaica, Richmond Hill, and South Ozone Park. As the first African American Speaker, she leads the Council's diverse, women-majority body. Since 2017, she has focused on equity, housing, women's health, and education, securing funding for schools, parks, and libraries while championing programs like CUNY Reconnect to support college access.

Donovan Richards - Queens Borough President

Donovan Richards serves as the Queens Borough President, championing the needs of the diverse communities across the borough. Focused on delivering equitable solutions, his priorities include affordable housing, healthcare access, economic development, education, and climate resilience. Richards aims to build a more inclusive and thriving Queens for all its residents.

Chris Banks

A lifelong resident of East New York, he has a background in community service, including roles with the Police Athletic League and the East New York Local Development Corporation. Banks has founded organizations like East New York United Concerned Citizens Inc., focusing on housing advocacy, youth mentoring, and senior support services. He has also served as President of the 75th Precinct Community Council and as a member of Community Board 5. His work emphasizes grassroots community building and advocacy to address local issues. Nikki Lucas represents Brooklyn’s 60th District in the New York State Assembly, covering East New York, Starrett City, and Brownsville. A lifelong resident and community advocate, she focuses on housing, youth mentoring, and senior support. Elected in 2022, she serves on committees like Aging and Economic Development, championing initiatives to uplift her district.
